Safety by design

OpenAura is built with safety at its core — not bolted on as an afterthought. Every AI conversation on our platform is subject to multiple layers of protection designed to keep both fans and creators safe.

Content moderation

All messages are monitored by our AI safety systems in real-time. We use advanced content filtering to detect and prevent harmful content including:

• Harassment, bullying, and hate speech
• Sexually explicit content involving minors
• Self-harm and suicide-related content
• Threats of violence
• Personal information sharing (doxxing)
• Scams and fraud attempts

When harmful content is detected, it is blocked immediately. Repeat offenders are permanently banned from the platform.

Creator control

Creators have full control over their AI personalities. They can set boundaries on what topics their AI will and won't discuss, review conversation patterns, and flag concerning interactions. Creator consent is at the heart of everything we do.

User reporting

Every message on OpenAura can be reported by long-pressing on it. Reports are reviewed by our safety team within 24 hours. We take every report seriously and take swift action when our community guidelines are violated.

Age verification

OpenAura is designed for users aged 17 and older. We require age verification during sign-up and comply with all applicable age-gating requirements on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Data protection

We don't sell your data. We don't share your conversations with third parties. We don't use your messages to train AI models for other purposes. Your conversations are encrypted and protected. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

AI safety guardrails

Our AI systems are designed with robust safety guardrails to prevent harmful outputs. These include:

• Topic boundaries: AI personalities won't engage with dangerous or illegal topics
• Emotional safety: If a user expresses distress, the AI provides supportive resources and helpline information
• Identity protection: AI personalities never share real personal information about creators (addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
• Anti-impersonation: AI responses clearly exist within the OpenAura platform and don't pretend to be real-time communication with the creator

Continuous improvement

Safety is not a destination — it's an ongoing commitment. We regularly update our safety systems, review emerging threats, and work with external safety researchers to improve our protections.
